How to spend a weekend in Tuscany

Here we go again! We are visiting Tuscany, Italy. Tuscany is said to have the best archive of the greatest art works in the world. Visitors around the world comes only to see how magnificent the art work in Tuscany is and others come only to explore the countryside. While visiting Tuscany, you can not miss its wonderful gourmet, cuisine and wine. There’s a lot to do in Tuscany but the only problem is, where to start? So go ahead and read through as I have listed places to visit and see for your weekend visit.

Planning your time

Time management is crucial when traveling. Before heading out to visit museums in Tuscany, always remember to check the opening and closing hours by phone or online as lines can be long while waiting. You don’t want to miss seeing the art works, so its best to get ready ahead of time before going.

 

A Saturday in Florence

A day in Florence is easy to waste as there’s a lot to do and a lot of places to visit. Florence has some of the greatest artistic remains in the world, these remains include Florence’s museum, palaces and churches house. The most popular sites in Florence are the Cathedral, the Uffizi, the Bargello, the Baptistery and the Accademia. To start your day, You might want to head first to the Accademia as it opens at 8.30 am, remember to reserve in advance.  You can also climb the Campanile and walk through the town center. Also try to visit the Bargello Museum, where you can find the best statues and get lunch afterwards at the neighborhood market and not to forget to get some gelato for desert. Next stop is shopping around San Lorenzo and see what Florence can offer you. The Uffizi Gallery is where you can see the finest paintings, but remember to reserve at least a month in advance through phone or online. Florence is a place worth spending a Saturday in and i promise you will never be disappointed.

 

A Sunday in Pisa and Lucca

Pisa and Lucca shouldn’t be missed visiting as they are the two places of the most historical towns found in Tuscany. In Pisa you will find the famous monument of the Piazza dei Miracoli with the Leaning Tower which you can visit in the morning. Afterwards you can go and visit the oldest building in Tuscany, the Baptistery and head on to the Cemetery and the Cathedrals. Lucca is not far from Pisa, a ride on a bus or train will get you there. Lucca is situated along the road that leads Florence from the coast. You can easily spend most of your afternoon just walking along a section of walls that enclose the city with beautiful gates and ramparts, where you can enjoy a view of the city’s roof, house towers and marvelous noble palazzos. To end your evening, have a look at the Duomo di San Martino or the Piazza Napoleone as most of the main sights are illuminated by the night sky.

 

This area is truly one if Italy’s delights, so think about renting a villa in Tuscany and really experience something special guys. Happy travels!
