If money was no issue, and you had all the time in the world – where would you go? It’s the sort of question people find themselves daydreaming about as they’re stuck in the office (I know I’m certainly guilty of it!). Well we’re hoping to prime you guys with the answer to that age old question.
Your mind is probably running at 100 miles per hour – Maldives, Bora Bora, Goa, Phuket – well fear not, the answers are but a few sentences away. So as you wait in anticipation, go and buy that lottery ticket because these Beach Holidays won’t come cheap. But sometimes, just sometimes, you can’t put a price on paradise. Here we go:
1) Maldives
Every honeymooners dream, the Maldives offers untold luxury at every turn. 29 natural atolls (plus a few manmade ones!) the Maldives is one of the most secluded places in the world. A lot of the resorts require a seaplane to access them, so you get an opportunitity to play James Bond en route to a series of the greatest beaches on the planet.
To access The Maldives, you have to fly to the hectic capital of Male, although few people hangaround here as it is nothing like the beautiful resorts you had in mind, so jump on the transport and head to the resort asap. Then sit back and do nothing for as long as you need.
2) Bora Bora
Located slap bang in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, Bora Bora rivals the Maldives for luxry at a distance. French Polynesia is infamously expensive to access, connecting either in Australia, New Zealand or LA it’s the sort of destination that you have to work for! The volcanic past of the island nation allow for the most breathtaking of scenery, and fear not – the volcanos are no longer active, allowing you to enjoy some of the most secluded beaches on the planet.
3) Seychelles
There may be 115 islands belonging to this island nation, but only a handful are inhabited allowing for a beach holiday like few other. The Seychelles are located off the coast of East Africa, north of Madagascar and in the middle of the Indian ocean. The vast majority of the beaches across the whole nation are largely untouched by man, and if you’re prepared to hike for 30 minutes to an hour from any ‘popular’ beach, you’ll find hundreds of metres of untouched beauty waiting for you.
4) Langkawi
Malaysia’s most popular holiday destination. Langkawi is not only beautiful, but surprisingly cheap with no tax payable on anything on the island. That means you can fill up your rented scooter for $4 and 2 beers will set you back around $3. The black sand beach in the north of the island is a particular highlight, as is Cenang beach on the west coast. The island is captivating from north to south so be sure to give yourself a few days to explore all the beaches across the place.
5) Fraser Island
Australia’s most famous island is something very special indeed. Located in Queensland, about 300km north of Brisbane Fraser island is accesible by both boat and land. The beaches that cover the island are nothing short of amazing, and the ‘faux beaches’ on the coasts of Lake Wabby and Lake Mackenzie are worth a day too.
Would these 5 beaches make your list too? I’m sure there’d come pretty close! For now, I’m going to get my swimming shorts and jump in the bath, it’s the next best thing. Right?!
