When you decide to go on long trips you really need to think about how to keep yourself entertained along the way. This is especially the case when you have long layovers, car trips, train rides or any other forms of long transport. As well as this, you simply cannot travel day in and day out and you really need some things to take your mind off travel. I have compiled a little list of some of the things that I like to do to kill some time on long trips, I hope you enjoy it.
There are many games that you can play anywhere, such as Tic Tac Toe and Hangman. All you really need is a piece of paper and there are many great game books, like Sudoku. But if you are a video gamer make sure that you’ve packed your portable gaming system, laptop or cell phone. You can even play online games if you have access to the internet. Personally, one of the things that I miss the most on a long trip is staying in the loop with sports news and updates. I’m quite a gambler myself and I believe that keeping up with sports through sports betting is the perfect way not to miss out on the action and is a great system to keep up to date with all events while still being able to kill some time.
Listen to music
Making sure your phone or music player is filled with a bulk of iTunes that can make a long trip a lot shorter. Everyone loves music and it can help to motivate, relax you and many other things. Another thing that is great about music is that it drowns out all the background noise, which can otherwise become very fatiguing. This is especially useful in a plane where you can hear the engines and the turbulent air around the plane. By the end of a flight you can be in a good mood.
Read a book
Reading is one of those things that many people don’t generally have enough time for, so now is your chance to pack that book that you always wanted to read. Reading is a great way to relax and get into your zone and a great way to pass the time. Soon you will be on your way and ready to travel again soon!
Sleep is a great way to pass the time and get yourself fresh and ready for the travels that lie ahead. For most people sleeping is not easy, but doing some of the other things on this list can really help you to sleep. I like to read and listen to music, as these can really help me to get to sleep and that’s why they are on the list above!
